If you’re thinking about adding a unique look to your home then contact us to install a bay or bow window into one of your rooms. We can install bow or bay windows tailored to suit your style in exterior colours such as White, Driftwood, Sandalwood, and Ivory. The most popular choice for a bay or bow window is in a home’s main living room with a window seat included beneath for added comfort and decoration. Other choices include above the kitchen sink or in a bedroom, often with a window seat as well.

Many people enjoy bay and bow windows because they add character to their home both inside and out, allow a lot of light into the home, increase ventilation, and make a room look bigger. They are built to protrude outward from your home and thus create an alcove in the interior that can be left as-is or have a ledge built into it (or a window seat). They are made up of multiple sections of windows that fit together as one unit, but typically only bay windows have windows that will open and shut.

At Casa Bella Windows and Doors, we can create bay and bow windows with various combinations of fixed and operating Casement windows, so both options are available to you if you’d like windows that open. Being able to sit in your window seat and open out your bay windows into the fresh air is a great feeling that will give you and your family (including pets) a great place to lounge on a beautiful day.

The Difference Between Bay and Bow Windows

Have you ever wondered what the difference is between bay and bow windows? Well, typically, bay windows are designed with a large picture window in the center with two smaller casement windows on either side, totalling three window units (though the one pictured below has four smaller windows). The side windows are angled outwards towards the middle window, creating a boxed look. Because of this, bay windows usually require more space on the outside of your home to accommodate the room they take up.

Bow windows, on the other hand, are made up for four to six window units that are put together to make a curve that protrudes from your home. Because of the curve, less space is taken up outside of your home and you can enjoy a panoramic view that lets more light in than a bay window typically would.
